About us
The European Union has taken important steps to assure that during clinical trials taking place – completely or partially – in one or more of the Member States, “the rights, safety and well-being of trial subjects are protected, and that the results of the clinical trials are credible.” At the same time the importance of facilitating and fostering innovation and improvement in patient care is also recognized and acknowledged. Increasing popular awareness about the significance of clinical trials and the contribution that informed individuals can make in clinical research helps the realisation of both aforementioned objectives.
The European Information Center on Clinical Research Participation (EICCRP) is the first European not-for-profit organisation dedicated to informing and educating patients and professionals on clinical research participation. We aim to improve the public perception of clinical research and the pharmaceutical industry. Considering the continued pressure faced by the industry, investment in increased public education and awareness regarding clinical trials will make a significant impact on advancing scientific research and patient care through greater citizen participation.
